Review of the Beaches Turks and Caicos French Village

Beaches in the Turks and Caicos Islands is one of the most popular all-inclusive family resorts in the Caribbean. This waterfront resort offers a beautiful beach, family entertainment daily, loads of delicious restaurants included in your stay, pools, a waterpark, and more. It can be a little complicated to book, however, because there are so many different room categories and several different villages.

If you are looking for the most reasonable price, you’ll probably find the Beaches Turks and Caicos French Village to be appealing. The luxury room – double category is one of the least expensive options on the property, and you’ll still have access to all of those fantastic amenities. Remember that you are unlikely to spend too much time in the room, so you won’t necessarily need the most luxurious option.

Review of the Beaches Turks and Caicos French Village

Location of the Beaches Turks and Caicos French Village

Beaches Turks and Caicos is located on Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. This is the city with the airport, so it’s pretty convenient. Beaches offers complimentary transportation from the airport for all guests. You’ll just have to check-in at the desk outside the airport, and you’ll be directed to the next van.

There are several villages at the resort including Key West Village, Italian Village, French Village, Seaside Village, and Caribbean Village. While each village has its own check-in area, guests can freely move around the resort. So don’t worry as much about where you are staying, because you can use any pool and eat at any restaurant in any area of the resort.

The French Village itself is located in the back of the resort, furthest from the beach. It still is a pretty quick walk to the waterfront, but these rooms don’t have ocean views. It is closest to the Pirate Island waterpark, as well as the Xbox play lounge, the Red Lane Spa and fitness center, the jungle room game room as well as the food trucks, and a few restaurants.

Rooms at the Beaches Turks and Caicos French Village

There are several room types at Beaches Turks and Caicos French Village including a few with concierge service. The concierge room includes benefits such as access to concierges to book the reservation-only restaurant Kimonos, daily snorkeling trips, glass-bottom boats, a Dad and Me basketball shootout, a concierge lounge, and restocking of in-room bars. If you don’t have one o

f these concierge-level rooms, you can book things on your own easily. Concierge is included with certain rooms – it isn’t something you purchase separately.

Room types include:

• French Village Three Bedroom Concierge Suite (sleeps 14 – great for large families)
• French Village Two Bedroom Concierge Suite (sleeps 11)
• French Village One Bedroom Concierge Suite (sleeps 7)
• French Village Luxury Walkout Room King (sleeps 4, with a twin daybed/trundle and king bad)
• French Village Luxury Walkout Room Double (sleeps 4)
• French Village Luxury Room King (sleeps 4 with a twin daybed/trundle and king bed)
• French Village Luxury Room Double (sleeps 4)

During my second stay at Beaches Turks and Caicos, we had a French Village Luxury Walkout Room Double. This small, but comfortable room offers two double beds as well as a chair that pulls out into a single bed. As a “walkout”, there’s a small patio with two chairs and a table right on the first floor.

Room amenities for this room category include a coffee maker, a safe, television (with some, but not all US stations), a small table, a chair, and a stocked refrigerator. Daily, the refrigerator was restocked with soda, water, juices, and beer. WiFi is also offered.

The only difference between a standard luxury room and a walkout room is the small patio. The walkout rooms lead to a first-floor patio with several patio chairs. Although it’s a bit more money, it is nice to have this space to hang out bathing suits to dry and to sit and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine.

The French Village rooms are motel-style and have an exterior entrance. There are several different buildings within the village.

Beaches Turks and Caicos French Village Restaurants

While guests at Beaches Resorts have access to all of the restaurants on the property, there are a few that are located right in the village. As an all-inclusive resort, food at the Beaches Turks and Caicos restaurants (including gratuities) is all included in your stay.

Bobby Dee’s

Bobby Dee’s is a counter service 50s style diner, offering snacks and meals throughout the day. Guests can get hamburgers, fries, chicken nuggets, and pizza. There’s also an ice cream counter, that has a kiddie swim-up bar outside. It’s open late at night if you get hungry after the evening activities.

Le Petit Chateau

One of the restaurants that are only available to adults and older children (12 and older), Le Petit Chateau offers French-inspired cuisine. It also has a dress code, and guests need to wear resort evening attire. If you want to eat there, make sure you pack the right clothes.

Guiseppe’s

This casual Italian restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Food is served buffet-style, and there is both indoor and outdoor seating.

Soy

Soy is one of our favorite restaurants at Beaches. It offers delicious sushi in an outdoor environment. It’s only open for dinner, and we usually eat there at least twice during our stay. It’s one of our favorite places to eat at Beaches.

Cafe de Paris

Cafe de Paris is a patisserie that is open from early morning until late at night. It offers pastries, coffee, and crepes in a casual environment. As a big coffee drinker, I found it to be especially helpful to be so close to the best coffee on the property. While you can get coffee elsewhere at the hotel, this is the best spot for premium coffee drinks (included in your stay).

Kimonos

Kimonos, a teppanyaki restaurant, is the only restaurant at Beaches Turks and Caicos that requires advance reservations. It’s so fun to visit, so I recommend that you make those reservations when you arrive so that you are guaranteed to eat there.

Beaches Food Trucks

There are two fun kid-friendly food trucks located in the Beaches Turks and Caicos water park. Curls ‘N Swirls offers a selection of ice cream, while Mr. Mac offers different mac and cheese entrees. These are great for casual quick bites, and my kids always love grabbing food from them for lunch.

Amenities at the Beaches Turks and Caicos French Village

Like all of the restaurants on the property, the amenities are available to any of the guests at any of the villages. However, there are some that are close to the rooms in the French Village.

Water Park

The Pirates Island Waterpark offers kiddie pools, water cannons, water slides, a surf simulator, a lazy river, kid water slides, a splash pad, and more. You can choose to spend a day there or just a little while. We usually spent a little bit of time each day there, and my kids always enjoyed themselves.

French Village Pool

Right in the center of the French Village is the French Village pool. In addition to the main pool, you’ll also find a swim-up bar, a kiddie pool, and a hot tub. Surrounding the pool are a number of pool chairs and umbrellas where you can enjoy the warm weather.

Chess

My kids always love playing with the giant chess board located right by the center of the French Village.

Main Stage

Beaches Turks and Caicos offers lots of entertainment, including some featuring Sesame Street characters. The main stage is located in the French Village, across from the restaurants.

Red Lane Spa and Fitness Center

Want to stay in shape or get a spa treatment during your visit to Beaches Turks and Caicos? There’s a Red Lane Spa and fitness center located right near the entrance to Kimonos. Spa treatments include massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, and more. Spa treatments and gratuities are an additional cost, so you’ll have to budget for them separately.

Other Amenities and Activities at Beaches

There are lots of other amenities and daily activities at Beaches Turks and Caicos. You can be as busy or not busy as you’d like during your stay.

The beautiful Caribbean beach along Grace Bay is one of the most gorgeous beaches in the world. Water sports, including paddleboards, PADI scuba diving (for certified divers), kayaking, windsurfing, hydro bikes, snorkeling, and more are included in your stay. You can also book a glass-bottom boat ride at the water sports desk.

Unlimited land sports and activities are also offered. These include shuffleboard, pool, croquet, beach volleyball, basketball, board games, table tennis, and more.

There are several pools on the property, including the large Italian Village pool, the Caribbean Village pool, and two Key West pools.

Regardless of the village that you choose at Beaches Turks and Caicos, you’ll find lots of activities and plenty of fun ways to spend your time.
