A vacation to Walt Disney World may be a splurge, but there are some ways to save money on your vacation. One way is to choose a Disney Value Resort, one of the three hotel classes (along with Deluxe and Moderate Resorts). There are several options within the value category.
This year, for my most recent Walt Disney World vacation (with a visit to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party), I stayed two nights at Disney's All-Star Sports resort. While I'd stayed at All-Star Movies before, this was my first visit to All-Star Sports.
Like the other value resorts, Disney's All-Star Sports resort offers a great way to save money on your family vacation without sacrificing the service and amenities that Disney is known for. Continue reading for our whole review.

Disney All-Star Sports Resort Review
The Location of the Disney All-Star Sports Resort
All three of Disney's All-Star resorts are located in the Animal Kingdom section of the park. This is just the general area of the entire Disney resort; however, it doesn't mean that Animal Kingdom is viewable or even walkable from the hotel.
Bus service is available to all theme parks, both water parks, and Disney Springs. The bus lines are organized, but not covered. A monitor by the bus stop displays the arrival times for the next buses to each destination. Additionally, you can use the app to track bus schedules.
Complimentary parking is offered at the resort, if you drive to your vacation or rent a car. Parking is spread out along the resort's perimeter. All-Star Music is located right next to the All-Star Sports resort, and you can walk from one to the other.

The Rooms at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort
The rooms at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort are relatively small and standard, but are still comfortable. These recently renovated rooms are clean and open, and feel modern.
Most of the rooms at the All-Star Sports resort have two beds, including one standard queen bed and a queen pullout bed that doubles as a table. Despite being a Murphy bed, this pullout bed is still very comfortable. The rooms have nine pillows - more than enough for a family of four.
The room feels pretty spacious with the Murphy bed up. I'd recommend keeping it up during the day and taking it down only when you need it. Rooms offer complimentary WiFi, as does the rest of the Walt Disney property.
Instead of carpeting, these newly renovated rooms have laminated flooring, which is much easier to keep clean. The rooms offer a beverage cooler, a safe, a coffee maker, a hair dryer, and a television. Magic Bands (if you have one) can be used to open the door, as can the My Disney Experience app. Or, you can get a room key card from the front desk of the resort.
Guest rooms are all located in various buildings scattered throughout the resort. These are motel-style rooms with exterior entrances. There are stairs and elevators to reach the upper floors. I prefer a ground-floor room, however.
When booking your stay, you'll have a choice of a standard or a preferred room. The difference between these is the location. Preferred rooms are closest to the Stadium Hall, where you'll find the front desk, food court, gift shop, and transportation area.

Amenities at the Disney All-Star Sports Resort
Disney's All-Star Sports Resort offers two pools on the property. These include the 242,471-gallon Surfboard Bay Pool and the Grand Slam Pool. There's a kiddie pool located in the Surfboard Bay Pool area.
During one of my days, I spent some time relaxing at the pool area near the Grand Slam Pool. It was relatively quiet, with a few kids enjoying the pool. As a value resort, the All-Star Sports Resort doesn't have a waterslide or a hot tub.
As with the other All-Star Resort hotels, All-Star Sports offers bright, cheerful decor with large "icons" located throughout. It's got a vibrant atmosphere.

Please note that the Surfboard Bay Pool and kiddie pool will be closed from January 2026 until late April 2026. Guests can use the pools at the other All-Star resorts or the Grand Slam Pool.
The resort offers various activities throughout the day. These include poolside activities, a campfire, and a lobby party. There are also some arts and crafts activities, including tie-dyeing.
A one-mile-long jogging trail is located on the property. However, I generally find that I do enough walking during my theme park days. There's also a small playground, an arcade, a gift shop, and a wellness scavenger hunt.
Food at the Disney All-Star Sports Resort
Like the other Disney value resorts, the All-Star Sports Resort has a large food court for guests. The End Zone Food Court offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's generally pretty busy, but there's lots of seating available. I recommend utilizing mobile ordering if possible to save time in lines.
If you'd like to enjoy a drink, Grandstand Spirits is a pool bar located near the Surfboard Bay Pool. There's also a selection of appetizers available if you are hungry.
Choosing an All-Star Resort
All three of the All-Star Resorts are very similar to each other, with larger-than-life decor, comfortable rooms, large food courts, and active pools. So, when you are considering which to choose, what should you consider?
I'd recommend considering the theme first. While themes are purely decorative, they can be a lot of fun for younger kids. Personally, I consider the price and availability differences first. While the resorts are so similar, pricing can vary based on availability.
