Best Mini Golf On Cape Cod

Warm days on the beach. Eating an ice cream cone outside after a casual lobster roll dinner. Watching the sunset while sipping on a cocktail. These are just a few things that you’ll probably want to experience when vacationing in Cape Cod, MA.

If you are traveling with kids, you may also want to include at least one round of mini-golf at one of the many courses located throughout Cape Cod. Playing mini golf is a quintessential summer vacation activity.

It’s also a great way to spend time together as a family. Whether you want to visit just one place for mini golf on Cape Cod or see several of the courses over your vacation, here is the best mini golf on Cape Cod to consider.

We’ll start with what we consider the absolute best mini golf course and then will list some additional options. Depending on where you are staying on Cape Cod, and the ages of your children, some of these other options may be better for your family. All of these are great for the whole family.

If you are playing with young kids, it can be stressful to play while others are waiting behind you. Keep in mind that these places can get very busy during school vacations, weekends, and the summer. Going first thing in the morning, or later in the evening, can be a way to avoid crowds. It can sometimes be better to let quicker parties ahead of you on the course.

Best Mini Golf On Cape Cod

Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf

This popular pirate-themed mini-golf chain offers lots of courses across the US, including a huge location in South Yarmouth, MA, on the mid-Cape. In my opinion, it’s the best mini golf on Cape Cod.

Like the other mini-golf courses, Pirate’s Cove is open seasonally. They are typically open from early April through mid-October, so if you are visiting Cape Cod for spring break they should be open.

Pirate’s Cove offers two 18-hole courses, so although it’s busy, there’s plenty of capacity. The two courses – Captain’s Course and Blackbeard’s Course – are both pirate-themed. If you have time later in your trip to play one more mini-golf game, you may want to do the second course. Throughout the whole facility, you’ll find pirate icons, like a pirate ship, cannons, treasure chests, and more.

Pirate’s Cove is open from 10 am to 8 pm daily, seasonally. I’d recommend going right at the opening if possible because it’s definitely less busy. It’s located on Route 28 in South Yarmouth, near the Whydah Pirate Museum (if you want to combine a visit to make it a pirate-themed day).

Free parking is available in a nearby lot. There isn’t a cafe located on-site, but it’s centrally located near many bakeries, coffee shops, and restaurants.

Other Options for Mini Golf on Cape Cod

Skull Island Adventure Golf/Sports World

If you are looking for more than just mini golf at a single location, consider Skull Island Adventure Golf and Sports World, also located in South Yarmouth on Route 28. This outdoor recreation center, previously known as the Bass River Sports World, is open seasonally starting in April. It offers miniature golf, go-karts, a golf driving range, a video arcade, batting cages, and kickball/wiffle ball cages.

Skull Island Sports World is a local favorite and is centrally located near many popular beaches, restaurants, and attractions. So you could easily stop there on the way to/from another activity. It’s a very central mini golf location.

Cataumet Crossing

Located in Cataumet (one of the neighborhoods of Bourne, MA), Cataumet Crossing is home to Cataumet Light Mini Golf, Lazy Sundae (ice cream), as well as batting cages, bumper boats, speed pitch, and an arcade. It’s a good option if you are in staying in the upper Cape Cod area, or are visiting Cape Cod for the day.

Wild Animal Lagoon

This animal-themed, 18-hole mini golf course is popular with families. It’s open later in the evenings on the weekends, so it’s a great option if you are out later. Wild Animal Lagoon is located on Route 28 in West Yarmouth, right in the center of many family-friendly restaurants and family attractions.

Holiday Hill is hands down the best mini golf course. No gimmicks, just a beautifully maintained course that is more challenging for the serious mini golfer.
