Ultimate Review of the Beaches Turks and Caicos Italian Village

If you are considering a family vacation at Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort Villages & Spa, you may be surprised at how many different room categories exist at the resort. With multiple villages, distinct areas, many different room configurations, and concierge/butler options, it’s certainly confusing to figure out the best option for your family vacation.

One of the more popular villages at Beaches Turks and Caicos is the Italian village. It’s conveniently located and offers some great guest room options for families. If you are considering staying here, here is our ultimate review of the Beaches Turks and Caicos Italian Village. It includes everything you’ll need to know about staying in this village.

This review only covers the Italian Village. Before you commit to a room, we recommend that you look at all of the villages and room options. The prices can vary by room and village and you can have a wonderful time regardless of where you stay.

Disclosure: I’ve been on a complimentary media trip to Beaches and also received a room upgrade to an Italian Village family suite during one of my visits. We’ve also been at our own cost several times. This post contains affiliate links and a purchase/click through one of these links may result in a commission paid to us at no additional cost to you.

When you are ready to get prices and other options for your Beaches vacations, visit their website. You’ll want to have a general idea of what type of room you’d like to stay in because there are so many different options. It’s recommended that you reserve your vacation as early as possible because you’ll find that it books up early, especially during school vacations.

If you aren’t familiar with the Beaches Resorts chain, it’s an extension of Sandals Resorts. While Sandals is for adults only, Beaches is an all-inclusive family resort. Food, tips, and most activities (including water sports) are included with the price of your trip.

During our second visit to Beaches Turks and Caicos, we were lucky to receive a media upgrade to the Italian village. Over the four years we’ve visited this resort, we’ve been able to stay in four different villages (Key West, the French Village, and Seaside Villas).

I think that the Italian Village is our favorite, however. It’s conveniently located, modern, and has the best pool at the resort.

Location of the Beaches Turks and Caicos Italian Village

Beaches Turks and Caicos is a large resort, and each of the villages is distinct. However, you are easily able to walk between all of the different villages.

There’s also a train that runs on a regular schedule, but we’ve never found the need to take it. Each of the villages has its own lobby and check-in area, except for Seaside Villas which uses the Caribbean village lobby.

So, while the location is important, it isn’t the most important factor when choosing your room. The Italian Village is centrally located, with easy access to the water park and the Grace Bay beach.

The villages at Beaches Turks and Caicos are:

  • Italian Village
  • Key West
  • French Village
  • Seaside Villas
  • Caribbean Village
  • A new area of the resort is currently under construction

Amenities

The rooms at the Beaches Turks and Caicos Italian Village surround the Italian Village pool, which is the most popular, lively, and largest pool at the resort. In addition to the large pool, there is also a swim-up bar and a hot tub. This pool is where you’ll find many of the hosted activities, including water Zumba and trivia.

The Italian Village also borders the gorgeous beach. It’s an easy walk from any of the buildings down to the beach, and you’ll also be right near the water sports center for snorkeling and other water activities.

Restaurants Near the Italian Village

All the restaurants at this all-inclusive resort are available, and included for all guests, regardless of which village you are staying in. They are all easy to walk to, so you shouldn’t be too concerned about location when it comes to dining.

However, when you are in the Italian Village, some restaurants are very easy to access from your room location. These include the following:

  • Mario’s Italian Cuisine – an Italian restaurant offering a buffet and other entrees at dinner as well as breakfast
  • Barefoot by the Sea – sit at a picnic table with your feet in the sand at this seafood restaurant (offering other options)
  • The Cricketers Pub – a British-style pub with traditional English food as well as pool tables
  • Dinos – an outdoor spot offering brick-oven pizza
  • Courtyard Bistro – hamburgers, hot dogs, and other snack foods
  • Bombay Club – offering Indian food at dinner

Room Types in the Italian Village

There are so many different room categories in the Italian Village, so you’ll want to make sure you choose the right option. Things like location and view are often specific to the room category, so you won’t be able to request these if you’ve booked a room without them.

Before you book, it’s a good idea to think about how you’ll plan to use the room. If you aren’t going to be in the room very much and don’t care about the view/location, you can save money.

Within the category are several room layouts. These include two-bedroom rooms and family suites. A rollaway bed can often be added to increase room capacity by one.

We had a family suite on our third visit to the resort, and it worked out well for our family. It includes a main bedroom with a king bed and a kids’ room with bunk beds.

There’s one large bathroom, as well as a sink and mirror in the kids’ room. It’s perfect for a family of four.

The view and location you’ll get are often included in the room category name. Beachfront rooms are the closest to the beach, while poolside faces the Italian Village pool.

A walk-out room is on the first floor, and your patio will be on ground level. The poolside walkouts can be a great option if you plan to spend a lot of time at the Italian Village pool.

These rooms in the Italian Village also come with a butler or concierge service. With concierge service, you’ll be able to book activities, Kimonos restaurant (the only restaurant requiring reservations), and spa treatments. You’ll also have your choice of alcohol and wine bottles delivered to your room upon arrival.

Butler service is a true luxury. Your butler can set you up for the day each day, in your choice of a pool cabana or a smaller beach cabana. You’ll also be able to get your lunch delivered to you daily and you will be escorted directly to a table at whatever restaurant you choose.

Here are the different room options that you’ll be able to choose from. Availability is often limited at this popular resort, so I recommend booking early so you’ll have the best options available to you. If you are confused about the various options, it’s best to work with a travel agent or talk to the resort directly.

Nearby activities

Within a short distance of your room, you’ll find a variety of other activities and amenities to enjoy. These include the Pirate Island waterpark (with water slides, lazy river, kiddie pools, and surf simulator), tennis courts, fitness center, Camp Sesame, Xbox play lounge, spa, lawn chess, shuffleboard, table tennis, several gift shops, multiple pools, the outdoor main stage, and a kids’ club.

There are also lots of restaurants with great food nearby, including Bobby Dee’s (open late at night for snacks), two food trucks (ice cream and mac and cheese), Cafe de Paris (coffee shop and pastries), Le Petit Chateau (adult restaurant with dress code), Kimonos, Soy, and much more.

The water sports area includes PADI® Certified Scuba Diving, kayaking, snorkeling, windsurfing, water bikes, and more. A complimentary glass-bottom boat ride is also available for guests to book.

There’s also a tour desk where you can book off-site excursions for an additional fee. We’ve never done that during our visits to Beaches, because there is so much to do there. But it’s a good option to have, especially if you want to experience more of the Turks & Caicos islands.

Thank you for the wonderful review.. I’m debating on the ocean front in the Italian village or an ocean view in key West.. is Italian rooms looking worn? Thank you

The one I was in was definitely not worn, but I didn't have an oceanfront room so I haven't seen those specifically. Both locations are excellent, I think you'll enjoy either. Have a great vacation!
