Disclosure: I attended a media event to experience the Chocolate Bar at the Langham Hotel at no cost. All opinions are my own.
Imagine a whole buffet of chocolate desserts, and you can eat anything you want! The Langham Hotel Boston, located in the financial district of Boston, is popular for its famed chocolate buffet – which is currently in its 29th season. For years, I’d heard about the Chocolate Bar at the Langham, and was thrilled to finally have the opportunity to attend as part of a media event.
The Chocolate Bar at the Langham Hotel in Boston, MA
The Chocolate Bar at the Langham Hotel features over 100 different desserts, beautifully displayed in a gorgeous buffet. Options include chocolate cakes, chocolate fondue, chocolate truffles, chocolate cookies, whoopie pies, and so much more! My personal dessert favorite, the chocolate croissant bread pudding, is a returning favorite from past years. Coffee and tea are included with the buffet price, and specialized chocolate martinis or martini flights are available at an additional fee. This year, there is also a Donut Wall where you can choose and decorate your own donut. Whether you like white chocolate, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate, there are loads of options. You will definitely not be hungry when you leave!
During the media event that I attended, I had the opportunity to speak with the pastry chef, who explained that throughout the year, unpopular selections are replaced with other creations. I also asked about food allergies, and was told that the chef can provide walkthroughs of the entire buffet for those with food allergies. As a mom to a child with a severe nut allergy, this made me confident that I can bring my daughter to the chocolate buffet. Normally, something like this would make me really nervous, but there are so many staff members at the chocolate bar, so there’s always someone to ask. If you are vegan, there are also some chocolate options available for you.
The chocolate buffet runs annually from September through June and is $45 for adults and $35 for children 5 through 12. Children under the age of 5 are free. Holiday and special event pricing may be higher. Cafe Fleuri, where the buffet is held, is slightly upscale – the dress code is listed as smart casual. Seatings are available for 11am, 11:30am, 1pm, and 1:30pm on Saturdays. If you’d like to stay overnight, they also offer package deals.
