Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay is the ultimate private island experience. As the name implies, it offers something for everyone, including a water park, private beach club, adult-only beach club, and complimentary beaches.
When your itinerary includes a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, you'll have the opportunity to purchase excursions and extras before your day. This includes cabanas, which provide a private, dedicated space with an attendant in specific parts of the island.
Considering a cabana during your Perfect Day at CocoCay? Here's everything you need to know about renting a cabana.
Disclosure: We've been on a few complimentary sailings on Royal Caribbean and have also paid our own way. We were able to experience a cabana during one of these visits, and have paid for our own cabana on two occasions.

Guide to the Cabanas at Perfect Day at CocoCay
If you want to get a cabana, it's best to book it as soon as possible when your booking window opens. They can be booked as a cruise excursion through the Cruise Planner. Payments are made in full at the time of booking.
Because there are typically two ships in port at any time at Perfect Day at CocoCay, demand can be high. It's best to book as early as possible. Please note that there are frequent sales on many Cruise Planner offerings, so keep an eye on pricing.
Additionally, there are several types of cabanas located in various areas of the island. You will need to book the specific location or type of cabana you want at the time of booking. So be sure to know precisely what you are booking. You won't specify the exact cabana, however, just the type and general location.
Here are the types and locations of the various cabanas at Perfect Day at CocoCay. Keep in mind that most of the food at CocoCay is included in your cruise. Additionally, if you have a drinks package and/or Voom WiFi, you can use them on the island.

Chill Island
Chill Island is the area of the island where I typically spend most of my time. Access to this area is complimentary, with the Chill Grill conveniently located for a quick lunch. You can get a beach chair/umbrella at no cost and enjoy the beach.
In addition, for an extra fee, you can book one of the twenty cabanas that are located along a quiet stretch of Chill Island. This part of the island is a short walk from the ship. These cabanas include an attendant who brings lunch and any drinks you want to order.

Coco Beach Club
The Coco Beach Club is a private retreat area located within Perfect Day at CocoCay. You need to purchase admission to enter the beach club, and a cabana is optional, but an extra charge. Regular seating with lounge chairs and umbrellas is always available for the beach club's guests.
When you rent a cabana, you automatically receive admission to the Coco Beach Club for a specified number of guests. There are two types of cabanas at the Coco Beach Club - overwater cabanas and standard Coco Beach Club Cabanas.

The overwater cabanas are the ultimate luxury - a beautiful location overlooking the sea, complete with a slide that plunges directly into the water. The standard cabanas are also a great option, and offer private seating and an attendant.

Oasis Lagoon
The Oasis Lagoon, the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean, is a lively area of the island away from the sea. There are some lounge chairs and umbrellas around the lagoon, but for guaranteed private seating, you can rent one of the 12 cabanas in this area.

Thrill Waterpark
The Thrill Waterpark cabanas are located within the private Thrill Waterpark area. Guests have to purchase a separate admission into the water park; however, passes are included with a cabana rental (up to 6 admitted guests per cabana).
While within the waterpark, you can enjoy 14 waterslides, including Devil's Peak, the tallest slide in the Caribbean, as well as the largest wave pool in the Caribbean.
These cabanas aren't quite as nice as the ones on the beaches, but they do have the added bonus of tickets to the water park.

Hideaway Beach
Hideway Beach is the newest separate ticketed area of Perfect Day at CocoCay. It's adult-only and includes a beautiful, mild cove beach area as well as a lively pool. If you are traveling with just adults, this is a fantastic option.
There are two types of cabanas here - Hideway Cabanas and Hideout Cabanas. The Hideaway Cabanas are situated by the pool and offer a more exciting experience near the DJ. The Hideout Cabanas, which are some of the best on the island, are located a little further away, and have access to an exclusive pool.
South Beach
South Beach is on the farthest part of the island, past the Coco Beach Club. It's a great spot for relaxation, although it also offers volleyball and basketball facilities. The cabanas on South Beach are most similar to those on Chill Island.
Day Beds
When you visit Cruise Planner to book your cabana, you may also see Perfect Day at CocoCay Day Beds. These aren't cabanas, but are rentable day beds. They are a great option if you don't want to spend the money for a cabana, but do want some dedicated, reserved space in a specific location.
Day beds are offered in the following locations:
- Chill Island
- Breezy Bay at Chill Island
- South Beach

What Comes With a Cabana
When you rent a cabana, you do get some amenities with them. Amenities do vary - for instance, Thrill Island cabanas come with passes to the water park, while Coco Beach Club cabanas come with passes to this private beach club.
When booking, be sure to note how many guests are permitted per cabana.
The Chill Island cabana that we recently rented included the following:
- Cabana attendant who brings food and beverage orders from the Snack Shack
- Floating mats (up to 2, which are hanging up by the cabanas, and you can take them if you need them)
- 4 Sun loungers
- Beach towels
- A water cooler with ice filled with eight bottles/cans of water
- A service button when you want to request something from your attendant
Our Experience With a Cabana
On our most recent sailing on the Utopia of the Seas, we rented a Chill Island Cabana. The day before our stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, we received a letter in our stateroom with all of the details.
When we left the ship, we were able to skip grabbing towels, since the cabana comes with them. Instead we departed the ship and went directly to the Cabana Check-in at Chill Island. Each section of the island has its own cabana check-in.
We received wristbands designating us as cabana guests, and our attendant showed us the assigned cabana. He also showed us how to use the call button and took our initial orders.
We loved our full day at Chill Island. There was plenty of shade for me, who prefers to stay out of the sun, while my kids wanted to get more sun. The food, from the Snack Shack, was delicious.
It was a perfect, relaxing day. If you do rent a cabana, I recommend bringing along cash to tip your attendant at the end of the day.
