Learn about the differences between Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California - they are both fun but there are some big differences as well as some similarities

While the parks are similar in some ways, they are very different in other ways. For starters, Disneyland is a lot smaller.

Disclosure: I have received discounted and complimentary admission/trips over the years at both parks, and have also paid my own way. All opinions are my own.

There are two theme parks at Disneyland in California - Disney's California Adventure and  Disneyland Park

while Walt Disney World has four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Disney's Hollywood Studios

You'll find some attractions at Disneyland that aren't at Disney World, like the Incredicoaster and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Some of the attractions have the same name and theme but are a bit different - including Pirates of the Caribbean and it's a small world.

At Disney World, you'll find Disney Springs with restaurants, entertainment, and shops. Admission is free but you'll pay for the individual activities.

Disneyland has Downtown Disney. It also has shops, entertainment, and restaurants but is smaller. It's easy to walk to from the three Disneyland resort hotels.

Disneyland is very walkable, and you can walk from one park to the other. Walt Disney World is much more spread out.

Both parks now offer MagicBand technology, and the new MagicBand+ bands have recently been released.
