Kid spas are the newest trend in resort spas – with an array of treatments that are appropriate for kids, tweens, and teens. My kids have had the chance to visit two of these spas, and found them to be fun for a quick treat. In most cases, you don’t have to be a resort guest to utilize the spa, so they are great for birthday parties and other celebrations. Here are four resorts that offer kid spas – there are many more as well, so be sure to check your hotel’s spa menu to see if they offer treatments for kids, tweens, and/or teens.
The Stowe Mountain Lodge offers a KidSpa Menu full of services for kids aged 6 and up. During our stay there a few years ago, my kids did the Chillax Treatment, which they loved. It includes aromatherapy washcloths, cool cucumbers for the eyes, and hand and foot treatments. The treatment ended with deep breathing exercises, which was something my kids were able to utilize in the future for relaxing. Other treatments, for kids aged 12 and up, include facials and massages (adults must be present in the room), as well as manicures, pedicures, and more.
The Great Wolf Lodge resorts offer the ice-cream themed Scooops Kids Spa, where each treatment comes with a coupon for complimentary ice cream. Only basic treatments are available, including manicures, pedicures, and facials. Treatments are pricey, but are a fun treat for any little girl. They also offer group treatments, for parties or other celebrations.
La Spa Il Salviatino
This beautiful spa located on a hillside overlooking Florence has just launched a new menu of age-appropriate treatments for little ones, tweens and teens. Carefully curated treatments are all performed under parental supervision and include a 30-minute hypoallergenic “Fresh Face” baby powder facial for kids aged 6-12 and a purifying “Teenage” facial for kids aged 13-17.
The Spa at JW Marriott Cancun
The Mayan-inspired spa at the JW Marriott Cancun offers treatments for kids aged 6-15, including a Peppermint Patty leg massage or splurge on the full Mayan Princess treatment which includes kids manicure and pedicure, glitter makeup, sunscreen application, hairstyling and more.
