Things to Buy for Walt Disney World
Autograph Book: If you are traveling with young kids, you’ll probably want to have autograph books for them. You can definitely purchase them in the gift shops at the hotels and parks, but there are also some options on Amazon if you want to have them in advance of your visit. Just keep in mind that these aren’t the same ones that you’ll see for sale in the parks.
Collapsible Water Bottles: I can never get enough water, especially in the Florida sun. I love this style of water bottle because they can fold flat in your bags, and fill up easily. This way, you won’t have to buy bottles of water constantly during your vacation. You can even use these in the airport, filling them up once you go through security.
Rain Ponchos: Florida weather is definitely unpredictable, and there’s always the chance of a rain shower. You can buy ponchos in the parks, but they aren’t cheap. If you think you may need a poncho, it may be a good idea to bring them with you. There are also nicer versions, which are better if you are sure you’ll need them at least once.
Portable Charger: Taking pictures and using My Disney Experience all day will definitely drain your cell phone battery. Bring along a fully charged portable charger to make sure that you always have battery power.
Lightweight Backpack: Carrying everything you need at the parks will definitely require a good bag. I typically like to bring a lightweight backpack, which can hold everything our family needs for the day.
Drawstring Backpack: Your kids may also want to carry some things in their own bag – either at the parks (which I don’t really recommend unless they are older), or on the airplane. These are lightweight and easy to carry.
Waterproof Swim Pouch Planning on going on water rides like Splash Mountain or Kali River Rapids? If you don’t have a designated bag holder, then you may want this type of pouch to keep your phone from getting wet.
Misting Fan: Are you going to Walt Disney World during the hotter months? You may want a misting fan. They are sold in the parks, but these are less expensive.
Sunscreen: I always bring sunscreen along with me to Walt Disney World. It’s available at the park shops, but it’s more expensive, and I like to have options for different brands.
There are a few things that you may want to buy from shopDisney. These items aren’t available on Amazon, so if you want them in advance of your trip, you’ll need to buy online in advance.
Autograph Books: If you’d prefer to purchase the official Disney autograph books, you can buy them online before your trip here. There are several different options. When my kids were younger, I tried to buy them autograph books with different covers so we wouldn’t confuse them.
MagicBands and MagicBand Accessories: MagicBands are complimentary if you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. But if you are staying off property, or you want a MagicBand 2 with a character on it, you can purchase one online. There are also some MagicBand accessories that you can buy in advance of your stay so you’ll be all set once you arrive.
