The Best White Mountains New Hampshire Hotels For Families

My family loves visiting the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The region is just a few hours from our home in Massachusetts, and it’s really a four-season vacation destination. We also love the White Mountains New Hampshire hotels – there are so many great family options.

Skiiers will love the fantastic mountains (including Waterville Valley, Cranmore, Loon Mountain Ski Resort, and Attitash Mountain Resort), as well as the gorgeous mountain views. If summer is more your season, there are so many things to do when staying in the White Mountains, including visiting the White Mountain National Forest and visiting Story Land.

If you are planning a White Mountain vacation, you can find perfect hotel for your trip. The whole region is filled with family-friendly resorts. Here are our favorite White Mountains New Hampshire hotels for families.

Wondering what town in the White Mountains to stay in? It really depends on what activities you plan to do. North Conway is the most popular area, but there’s a lot to do in Lincoln NH as well. There are also smaller towns in the region.

If your plans include several towns in the White Mountains, it’s pretty easy to drive between them. For longer trips, we sometimes stay in both Lincoln and North Conway.

I’ve always enjoyed my stays at Residence Inns, so I was happy to check out the Residence Inn by Marriott North Conway during one of my White Mountain vacations. This hotel is conveniently located on the White Mountain Highway right in North Conway.

If you are looking for a little more space, this is a great option for your family. There are a variety of different room types including studios and family suites.

Amenities at the hotel include a fitness center, an indoor heated pool, a putting green, a hot tub, and a sports court. There’s also an outdoor fire pit, a business center, laundry facilities, and a small market selling essentials.

Red Jacket Mountain View Resort, North Conway

Perched on a mountain top in North Conway is the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort. This White Mountains hotel and family resort is conveniently located and offers great family amenities.

The most popular amenity is the Kahuna Laguna indoor water park that is located right in the resort. There is an additional fee for guests, and day passes are also available for those staying at a different resort.

Kahuna Laguna offers water slides, a water basketball court, a wave pool, a little kid play area, splash pads, a tipping bucket, and more.

There are a number of different room types at the resort, including traditional rooms, mountain view rooms, and mountain view alcove rooms. Family suites, townhomes, vacation homes, and loft rooms are also available.

During our stay, we had an alcove room and enjoyed these unique accommodations. The alcove rooms have a standard room with two queen beds and a separate room with bunk beds. My kids really loved having their own discrete space in our hotel room.

Many of the rooms have a gorgeous mountain view. You’ll definitely want to take advantage of these beautiful views.

North Conway Grand

One of our favorite White Mountains NH hotels is the North Conway Grand. It’s located right behind the Settler’s Green Outlet Village, so you won’t even need to drive to the outlets if you want to shop.

In addition to a great location, this resort offers a number of family-friendly amenities. These include an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, free, WiFi, a fitness center, an arcade room, an outdoor fire pit, free parking, and a movie room.

During school vacations, the resort also offers special family programming including movie nights. We love outlet shopping, so we really enjoy this resort due to the location and fun kid-friendly amenities.

The Seasons Resort, Bartlett, NH

Are you looking for a little more space for your family? The Seasons Resort, located in Bartlett, NH, offers condo rentals with a minimum two or three-night stay (depending on the time of year – although shorter rentals are sometimes accommodated).

We booked a stay at the Seasons Resort when my kids were little. We really enjoyed having the extra space to spread out. Although it’s not right in North Conway, the Seasons Resort is in nearby Bartlett, near Attitash and Story Land.

Amenities at the Seasons Resort include jacuzzi, indoor pool, saunas, locker rooms, a game room, a sun deck, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a playground. During our stay, we really enjoyed touring around the White Mountains all day long and then swimming in the indoor pool in the evenings.

Seasons offers a variety of different condo-style suites. These include two-bedroom suites, with two different bathrooms. These suites offer fully-equipped kitchens, wood stoves, private decks, a washer, and a dryer. Some of the suites offer air conditioning, but others do not.

There are also townhouses, which also offer air conditioning. The penthouses have two bedrooms as well as a sleeping loft upstairs. Some of these units do not have air conditioning.

The Mountain Club On Loon Mountain

There are other White Mountains family-friendly resorts located beyond the North Conway region. These include one of our favorites: The Mountain Club on Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH.

The Mountain Club on Loon Mountain, as the name implies, is located right adjacent to the Loon Mountain Ski Resort. This popular ski resort offers both winter and summer activities.

The hotel offers guest rooms and suites that are great for families. The primary two room types are club rooms (a standard room that accommodates two people) and a studio, which can accommodate four and offers a kitchen.

For families who are looking for a little more room, these two rooms can be combined. We’ve done that in the past, and the kids stayed in the studio while we stayed in the adjoining club rooms.

In addition to the family-friendly rooms, there are some great amenities and activities at the resort. These include a spa and wellness center, with a fitness center, fitness classes, indoor lap pool, indoor leisure pool, and a seasonal outdoor pool. There’s also the Black Diamond Pub, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

While in Lincoln, you can enjoy visiting Clark’s Trading Post, Franconia Notch State Park, miniature golf, and Whale’s Tale Water Park.

The Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa, Whitefield, NH

Tucked away in Whitefield, New Hampshire is a fun, historic resort offering loads of amenities including their very own farm. We stayed at the Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa several years ago, and we really enjoyed this charming resort.

As a historic hotel, there are lots of different room types and styles. These include standard guest rooms, historic guest rooms, classic rooms, studio rooms, as well as several suite types. Within those categories, you may also be able to choose the bed type (king, queen, etc).

Depending on the season that you visit, you’ll find lots of different amenities and activities. We visited in the late spring, and we loved the Mountain View Farm. There’s a daily schedule of activities offered, including a “meet the farmer” event in the mornings.

Another unique activity in the resort is dogsledding and rolling rig rides. These are offered at an additional fee.

There’s also the tower spa, the 9-hole Mountain View Golf Course, a health and wellness center, and indoor and outdoor pools.

Whitefield is a bit tucked away from some of the White Mountains activities. It is, however, very convenient if you are planning on visiting Santa’s Village. When my kids were little, they loved Santa’s Village, so I would definitely recommend it to anyone with younger children.

Indian Head Resort, Lincoln, NH

As a kid, one of my favorite places to stay was the Indian Head Resort, located in Lincoln, NH. This family-friendly resort offers hotel rooms and cabins, nestled among the White Mountains. It has amenities for both winter and summer, although we love staying there in the summer.

Activities include tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, paddle boating, hiking trails, a lookout tower, an arcade, and a fitness center.

It’s a quintessential family resort, and you’ll definitely want to plan some time at the resort. Rooms and cabins are fairly standard, but the amenities and activities make a stay worthwhile.
