Santorini has long been on my travel bucket list, so when I saw that our Adventures by Disney Greek Odyssey trip included a stop at this magical island, I was thrilled. It’s such a unique spot, featuring several picturesque towns that tourists love to visit. Our two-night stay in Santorini was in the town of Fira, one of the most popular tourist spots on the island. We spent two nights at the Majestic Hotel Santorini, a small hotel located within walking distance of the downtown area of Fira.

Review of the Majestic Hotel Santorini
Location of the Majestic Hotel Santorini
The Majestic Hotel is located in Fira, Santorini, just about a 10 minute walk to town. On the few occasions that I walked to Fira, it was a quick and easy walk, with a sidewalk to walk on. The hotel is nice and quiet however – it’s far enough from town to avoid the noise and crowds, but close enough to make it a close walk. There’s also a grocery store nearby, if you want to pick up essentials for your room. We weren’t there long enough to need provisions, but it’s always nice to have options.
If you are flying in to Santorini, the hotel is located about 5 miles from the airport. The Majestic can assist with making transportation arrangements to get you from the airport to the hotel, or from the port to the hotel. During our trip, we flew into the Santorini airport from Athens, and then took the ferry to Crete.
Rooms at the Majestic Hotel Santorini
The four of us stayed in a family room at the hotel. The rooms include two twin pull out futon-type beds (as shown), as well as a loft with the master bedroom. The room offers a large balcony with beautiful views of Santorini, a full bathroom, a safe, a hair dryer, two televisions, and in-room coffee. Complimentary WiFi is offered in the rooms and in the lobby.
The room did feel a little small for our family of four – there wasn’t too much room for our clothes. It wouldn’t have been a big deal for a few nights’ stay, but we had luggage for 12 nights, so it did get a bit crowded. In addition, the beds were less comfortable than the other hotels we stayed in. These small pull out beds in the family suites are best for younger kids and not adults. The views and uniqueness of the resort were so wonderful though, making it one of my favorite hotel stays.
If you have less than four people per room, you’ll have other room options available, including a room with two twin beds and a room with a king or queen bed. When booking your room, you can choose the bed and breakfast option, which includes the delicious breakfast buffet.
If you can afford it, you may consider booking two rooms for your family, rather than the family suite. You’ll have more space that way.
Amenities at the Majestic Hotel Santorini
The highlight of our stay at the Majestic Hotel was the beautiful pools. There are three pools – a small pool, a larger family pool, and an adult-only pool. One of these is heated. There are plenty of pool chairs around the pool area, so you can also just enjoy the scenery. During our stay, the kids on our trip loved spending time at the pool area. It was pretty quiet, other than our group.
The hotel also offers a spa, sauna, jacuzzi, air-conditioned gym, and game room with billiard table. In addition, there’s a concierge to help book activities and restaurants, as well as two conference rooms if you are there for work.
Food at the Majestic Hotel Santorini
While there are loads of delicious food options in Fira, the Majestic Hotel also offers a number of meal options. A delicious breakfast buffet is offered daily, and includes diverse menu options like crepes, waffles, eggs, fruit, and cheeses. The hotel also has a fine dining restaurant, a lounge, and an outdoor pool bar serving tempting drink options. Room service is also available.
The Majestic Hotel Santorini operates seasonally, from April 1st through October 31st each year. To learn more about the hotel, you can read reviews here.
