I’ve only been to Chicago a few times (always for business) but it’s definitely one of my favorite cities. There’s so much to see and do there, and it’s such a walkable city. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to stay at the Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile as part of my attendance at the ShareASale ThinkTank (full disclosure – my hotel stay was included as part of the fee paid for the conference). I always love walking down Michigan Avenue, so I was really looking forward to staying right there.
As the name suggests, the Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile is located directly on Michigan Avenue. I had a little bit of time to explore, and found everything to be just a short walk away (including Millennium Park, the Architecture River Tours, and Michigan Ave shopping). I had a beautiful view from my room, which I enjoyed when I sat at the long desk working in between sessions.
The Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile offers standard, deluxe, and suite accommodations, as well as rooms in the newly-renovated Executive Tower. My room was in the Executive Tower, and I found it to be clean and modern. The room was perfect for one or two people – double-bed rooms are available for families. The room was cleaned first thing in the morning, which was so convenient since I was in and out during the conference.
Rooms at the Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile offer a minibar, hairdryer, iHome alarm clock, and bathrobes. There’s also a large television, along with a very comfortable bed.
I didn’t have much time at the hotel, so I didn’t have the chance to enjoy the spa and health club, along with the large indoor pool. They looked beautiful though, and I’d definitely love to return and try them out.
There are also some great dining options in the hotel, including a Starbucks, a Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse, a wine bar, and the Continental, which offers breakfast and brunch. In-room dining is also available. However, if you are traveling with children, you may want to ask the concierge for recommendations of more kid-friendly restaurant options.
