Disclosure: We received a Little Passports kit for review.
We’re so thrilled to be participating in Passports with Purpose again this year. This year, the goal for Passports with Purpose is to raise $115,000 for buildOn to construct three schools and fund three adult literacy programs in the Sikasso region of southern Mali, Africa.
The 2013 prize fundraiser begins November 25, 2013 at 11:59pm EST and ends on December 9, 2013 at 11:59pm EST. During that timeframe you will be able to participate by donating $10 on their amazing catalog of prizes – each chance is $10 and all proceeds will go to buildOn. This year, I’m working with Little Passports to offer a 12-month subscription to either the US or World edition of Little Passports to one lucky winner! (Please note this prize is for US winners only).
If you aren’t familiar with Little Passports, here’s more information about the products:
Both the USA and World editions can be purchased a monthly subscription (charged monthly), a 3-month subscription, or a 12-month subscription. They are great gifts for kids, and the gifts will continue all year long. The USA edition is best for kids aged 7-12, and the World edition is better for younger kids – 5-7.
My kids are aged 7 & 9, and enjoyed the USA edition best. The first kit comes with a letter from Sam and Sofia (the two children whose adventures kids follow), a USA map, a field guide, a disposable camera, and a photo scavenger hunt. Each month, the kids receive a new kit specific to two different states – so they’ll learn a little more about the US every month.
The World Edition also comes with a letter from Sam and Sofia, along with a world map, personal passport, stickers, and activities. Then, each monthly box comes with information on a brand-new country that Sam and Sofia visit. Although my son is right on the edge of the age range for this, he still enjoys learning about the countries.
Also, major thanks to the big Passports with Purpose sponsors for 2013 for making this all possible.
