For the second half of #BloggingFL (first part here), I left the Gaylord Palms and headed to the Orlando World Center Marriott, the largest Marriott-branded hotel in the world. I checked in, and was brought to my room, a suite on the 9th floor of the main tower. My room included two balconies, both of which overlooked the brand-new pool complex (part of a multi-million dollar renovation).
After unpacking a bit, I changed into my bathing suit and brought a book down to the Falls Pool Bar for lunch. The server was friendly and offered some recommendations, including these delicious tuna tacos.
I hung out at the pool for a while, coming inside only for a brief Florida rainstorm. My balcony was completely dry though, so I was able to still sit outside and get some work done.
Dinner was at Siro, a delicious Italian restaurant in the lobby of the Orlando World Center Marriott. I had a tuna appetizer and a kale Caesar salad along with the half-portion of linguine with clams. The food was fabulous – I’d definitely return.
On Sunday morning, I spent a little bit of time at the pool before driving over to the Orlando Renaissance SeaWorld for a day stay. Upon arriving, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they offer complimentary valet parking for Hybrid vehicles – a nice green touch. I had lunch at Tradewinds in the lobby, then spent some time at the pool reading my book. In addition to the main pool, the Renaissance recently added a splash zone area for kids.
The highlight of my day stay was an 80-minute exfoliating treatment/massage at the Neu Lotus spa. It was completely relaxing, and I think I may have even fallen asleep during the massage. After the spa, I dined at Mist, which offers sushi and cocktails right in the 10-story lobby of the Renaissance. Completely relaxed and full, I drove back to the Marriott, where I watched the fireworks at Epcot right from my balcony.
The next morning, I flew back home to Boston, but absolutely want to return to all four hotels with my family.
