I already posted about New Fantasyland, but the largest expansion ever at the Magic Kingdom isn’t the only change at Walt Disney World. Here are a few other new things to check out the next time you are at Walt Disney World.
Splitsville at Downtown Disney
The largest Splitsville ever is set to open at Downtown Disney’s West Side on December 19th. The food (including a sushi bar downstairs) is excellent, and with billiards and bowling, there’s plenty to do. The upstairs area will be dedicated to over 21 after a certain hour on designated nights. If playing with young children, you can have bumper guards put up in your lane – something my son took advantage of while we were there.
Reopened Test Track at Epcot
Test Track has been refreshed and renovated and is now reopened. Gone is the pre-ride video and the heat/cooling tests, but instead, guests get to create their own car. FastPass riders can choose from pre-designed cars while stand-by line riders have the chance to design their own cars. At the end of the ride, you’ll get to check out Chevrolet vehicles, create your own video, and see some additional technology.
The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
While this attraction officially opened December 6th, we got to see it during the soft launch in December. As we entered the room, my daughter was offered the chance to hold the official skeleton key during the show and stand on a special stage – already making it a magical adventure. During this attraction, you’ll see a show and be tested to see if you can be part of the pirate crew. You’ll also see an appearance by Captain Jack Sparrow – Johnny Depp himself – that you’ll have to see to believe.
Disclosure: Our trip(s) to Walt Disney World were complimentary as part of my position on the Moms Panel and through the New Fantasyland Media Trip. I am not a Disney employee and all opinions are my own.
