NYC is only a short 3 hour train ride away, but up until now, we’d never taken our kids. So when my husband had a work offsite in the city last week, we decided to tag along and take advantage of the opportunity to stay in Midtown Manhattan and explore the city. I admit that I was a little nervous to handle the kids for three straight days – morning to bedtime, but we had so much fun. I’ll have a full review of the things we did in NYC later, but for now, here’s a quick look into the fun we had.
After arriving in NYC, we were hungry for lunch. We stopped off at a row of food trucks in midtown for a yummy lunch (that’s a grilled mac and cheese sandwich my son is eating!).
We took a bus tour on a double decker when it started raining. It didn’t seem to affect my kids at all.
The next day, we took a Circle Line boat tour (this was comped – review coming soon), which we absolutely loved. My kids especially enjoyed seeing the Statue of Liberty for the first time.
After the boat tour, we headed over a few piers to the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum. We bought just the basic ticket but still had lots of fun exploring the air craft carrier.
While we had fun exploring the city, the kids’ stuffed animals got to experience a spa day in our hotel room.
The next morning, we checked out the M&M store in Times Square (this was THE ONLY character in Times Square I let them pose with!).
Then we headed to the Art of the Brick exhibit in the Discovery Center in Times Square.
We also saw a very scary dinosaur made entire out of Lego.
After the exhibit, we went over to the Central Park Zoo, where we saw the animals and watched a 4D movie.
The next morning, we took a quick walk to Rockefeller Center before heading back to Penn Station. We had a great time, and my kids are already asking when daddy’s next NYC trip is!
