I have the opportunity to stay at many hotels, and some of my favorites are those that epitomize all-fashioned nostalgia. The luxurious Mountain View Grand, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, is a resort that feels like a throwback to better days.
The Mountain View Grand is the only NH resort to receive the AAA Four Diamond designation for both dining and lodging. We visited with our three-year old son and our five-year old son, and had a large room, with a king-sized bed and a pull out couch (where the kids slept). The room also had a large bathroom, with loads of room. My kids loved it so much that they danced around the bathroom when they saw it. The hotel features an old-fashioned elevator with a crank operated by a personal elevator operator, along with several restaurants, an onsite spa, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, and a farm.
The farm was easily my kids’ favorite thing – it offers pony rides (for an additional fee), and the chance to learn about the animals who reside there (dwarf goats and donkeys, horses, chickens, and bunnies). Guests can even purchase wool yarn made right there at the resort!
While the Mountain View Grand is in a pretty remote location, it’s a very convenient hotel to stay at for guests planning to visit Santa’s Village.
