Since the holidays (from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day) are often the easiest time for my family to travel, I love seeing family hotels decorated for Christmas, and there are lots of hotels that go all out for the holidays. From gigantic gingerbread carousels to a huge sand display, these family hotels are stunning during the holidays. Here is some of the best holiday decor at family hotels – did we miss your favorite?

Holiday Decor at Family Hotels
Sand Sculpture at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach
The Sandpearl Resort, which is on my travel bucket list, is celebrating the holidays Florida Style! The 8,000 pound sand sculpture in the lobby celebrates Sandpearl’s 10th anniversary and includes a Christmas scene with a tree, Santa delivering presents, and sleeping children.
Have Your Room Decorated at the Opal Sands Resort
Want to enjoy your vacation AND come back every night to a decorated room? At the Opal Sands Resort in Clearwater, you can enjoy decor that you don’t have to put up! For $250 you can request to have your room decorated for Christmas. Decorations include a 4-foot Christmas tree, tree lights, ornaments, and a tree skirt. You’ll also receive an Opal Sands Resort ornament to take home and cherish year after year.
Beach-themed Christmas Tree at the Jupiter Beach Resort and Spa
I am a sucker for a nautical-themed Christmas tree, so I would love to see the 12-foot tree in the lobby of the Jupiter Beach Resort and Spa. This tree is decorated in seashells, and turquoise and silver ornaments. There’s also a tropical display of Santa and his reindeer.

Great Wolf Lodge Resorts
The Great Wolf Lodge Resorts across the US and Canada get into the holiday spirit with Snowland, a celebration running through the 1st of the New Year. There are loads of holiday-themed activities, including visits with Santa. The highlight is a life-sized Gingerbread house that you can actually dine in!
Gaylord Opryland Holiday Events
Last Thanksgiving, we spent the holiday weekend at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN. In addition to gorgeous decorations, a holiday light show, and an indoor Christmas market, the Gaylord resorts are also home to ICE! This huge ice attraction with loads of large ice sculptures also includes an ice slide, and snow tubing (all available for an additional fee).
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Our favorite of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels is Disney’s Beach Club. During the holidays, they install a gigantic gingerbread carousel in the lobby. It smells delicious, and looks so festive and beautiful in the lobby.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is home to a gigantic gingerbread house in the lobby. If you are at Walt Disney World, it’s worth stopping by the Grand Floridian, even if you aren’t staying there.

Very Merrytime Cruises on the Disney Cruise Line
While it isn’t a hotel per se, you can get into the holiday spirit on the Disney Cruise Line. Over Thanksgiving Weekend, we spent our holiday on the Disney Dream, enjoying a Very Merrytime Cruise. Festivities include holiday decor (including the gingerbread house pictured above), storytime with Mrs. Claus, and hot chocolate in the lobby.
