As a cold-blooded New Englander, I love spending time in Florida. There are so many different things that families can enjoy – especially families that enjoy getting outdoors to enjoy nature. It’s also a pretty quick trip from Boston – just a few hours via airplane. There are many different options of things to do – you can even combine several for a fun family road trip through Florida. Have you heard of Ocala/Marion County? This Central Florida county offers family-friendly activities all four seasons of the year, and is definitely worth considering with your next Florida Travel plans.

Enjoy outdoor adventure? You could also take a ziplining/canopy tour at The Canyons Zip Line & Canopy Tours, which lasts about 2 1/2 – 3 hours. Ziplining is a fun way to get the whole family together on an adventure – just check height and weight limits before heading out.
Horseback Riding in Ocala/Marion County Florida
Ocala/Marion County is known as “The Horse Capital of the World”. It offers a number of national and international equestrian events. Guests to the area can also enjoy visiting horse farms, and going horseback riding. I have so many fond memories of horseback riding as a child – it was one of my favorite things to do on vacation.
With all of these wonderful things to do in the area, Ocala/Marion County is definitely worth a visit. These outdoor activities are the types of things that create wonderful family members and help promote family bonding. With the limited amount of time we have with our children these days, I love any opportunity to turn off the screens and get outside.
