During our recent family vacation to Phoenix, AZ, my family decided to make the 2-hour drive down to Tucson, AZ to experience something different. For our 2-night stay, we choose the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, a hotel located in a quieter part of Tucson.
Review of The Loews Ventana Canyon Resort Tucson, AZ
Loews Ventana Canyon offers a kids’ camp, a spa, outdoor pool, whirlpool, lounge, golf courses and several restaurants. We dined at one of the on-site restaurants, the Flying V Bar and Grill, and had a wonderful experience. The other restaurants are more casual, offering breakfast, lunch, and bar food.
Rooms at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort
Our room at the Loews Ventana Canyon resort, a two-double bed room, had lots of space for our family. My kids especially loved the over-sized (and I really mean HUGE) tub, as well as the television in the bathroom. The room was extremely comfortable, and I loved the Keurig machine – a nice touch, and essential for my husband and I who both need our coffee to function. Our room also had a fabulous city view, which was especially beautiful at night.
There are several room types, including standard rooms, patio rooms, skyline/mountain view rooms, and grand skyline / mountain view rooms. They also offer suites.
Amenities at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort
The resort offers some great activities for children, including the Coyote Kids Club, which we were unable to experience due to timing (we just had way too much planned). There’s also the Window Walk Nature Trail, which is a 1/2 mile paved trail that takes you on a guided tour of the Sonoran Desert. My kids especially loved seeing the waterfall – a rare site in the desert. You can do the walk pretty quickly, or spend your time reading about all the different plants. It’s perfect for those families who may not have the time to visit the Sonoran Desert Museum, which is on the other side of town.
The Loews Ventana Canyon Resort also offers two pools (with fun activities on weekends and holidays), a fitness trail, golf, tennis, and a full-service spa. There’s so much to enjoy there, and you can definitely spend multiple days exploring the resort.
