The beautiful Italian town of Sorrento is a fantastic spot for a family vacation, and for those families looking for a great family hotel, the luxurious Grand Hotel La Favorita is stunning. We stayed there on the first leg of our recent Italian vacation, and I wish we had more time there.
With an open, clean design, the Grand Hotel La Favorita’s decor perfectly matches the style and tone of the town of Sorrento. We enjoyed exploring the gardens of the hotel, which are filled with beautiful plants and trees, including lemon trees. There’s even a secret garden that my kids loved checking out. The hotel is located right in Sorrento, and is convenient to the marina, as well as shops and restaurants. Just a few steps out the front door was an abundance of delicious food – fresh cheese and tomatoes, yummy gelato, and fabulous pasta.
The rooms at the Grand Hotel La Favorita are fairly large, with beautiful blue and white floors. We had two corner rooms with a shared external door. The kids had a room with two twin beds, while my husband and I had two twin beds made up into a king bed. The rooms don’t have irons (per Italian law), but do include a hairdryer, safe, mini bar, and heated towel racks. Free WiFi is offered, and we found it to be very reliable. We also had two beautiful balconies that connected in the center. We didn’t have much free time in Italy, but we did love sitting out on those balconies.
The hotel offers numerous amenities as well. There’s a fantastic breakfast buffet that includes lots of food options including made-to-order omelets and pancakes. The hotel offers a rooftop pool, along with a bar and restaurants. We had a few meals at the resort, and really enjoyed the food.
