Disclosure: I toured the Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge during the Pandora media trip, which I experienced at no cost. All opinions are my own.
Disney’s Vacation Club is opening some brand-new accommodations, and I had the chance to check them out during my recent Pandora media trip. They looked absolutely stunning in photos, so I decided to take some time from my rest/Pandora exploring time to take the optional tour. It was definitely worthwhile – these new cabins and villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are sure to be very popular when they open in mid-July. They are extremely luxurious and offer lots of room for families.
For those of you not familiar with the Disney Vacation Club (DVC), it’s a points-based ownership system. These properties will be available to guests without DVC, but DVC members get the first opportunity to rent them. Guests can always always stay in regular rooms at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – which is absolutely stunning itself. This resort, which is themed after the wilderness lodges of the Pacific Northwest, has a cozy and rustic feel.
According to DVC, Copper Creek Villas and Cabins offers one of the widest ranges of accommodations at Walt Disney World. They will offer 184 new accommodations, including the villas (Deluxe Studios, one and two bedroom Villas, three bedroom Grand Villas), and 26 new luxurious waterfront cabins.
Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
The Copper Creek Villas are inspired by nature, and include kitchen areas, private patios, and balconies offering gorgeous views. They are great for larger families and those who like or require extra space. The Grand Villas can accommodate up to 12. Everything is decorated in a beautiful, rustic yet modern style.
Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
I loved the villas, but the cabins are truly amazing. There are 26 waterfront cabins that sleep up to 8 – two in the king bedroom, three in the second bedroom, and three on the pullout couch/chair in the living room. The cabins have a large enclosed porch overlooking the water, which includes a small built-in hot tub. There’s also a side porch. An interior/exterior fireplace can be seen from both the side porch and the living room.
The decor of the cabins, like the villas, is rustic yet modern. When I was in the cabin, I truly felt that I was in the wilderness – not in the middle of Walt Disney World. There is plenty of space for a family, and you’ll definitely want to spend lots of time in the cabin.
Amenities at Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Guests at the Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge can enjoy the fabulous resort amenities, including the Sturdy Branches Health Club fitness center, outdoor movies, campfires, fishing, bike rentals, and two pools. One of the pools, the Copper Creek Springs Pool, offers a 67-foot waterslide and a water play area. There’s also the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool, with a zero-entry pool and a whirlpool spa.
The resort has also recently opened the Geyser Point Bar and Grill, a restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition to the light bites menu, there’s a quick service window.
