The Gaylord Texan Resort’s Lone Star Christmas Featuring ICE! and Santa’s Wild Workshop Snowtubing

From now through January 1, 2019, the Gaylord Texan (Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center) is presenting their annual Lone Star Christmas Event. It includes dozens of holiday displays (with over 2 million lights), ICE! (a 14,000 square-foot attraction), and Santa’s Wild Workshop Snow Tubing.

This year’s ICE! is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer themed, and it offers ice sculptures, an ice skating rink, and an ice bar. It’s open to everyone – not just guests of the hotel – but there is an admission fee, even if you are staying at the resort.

I’ve stayed at the Gaylord Texan twice, but not during the holiday season. However, I did get to experience the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer ICE! several years ago at the Gaylord Opryland. It’s fabulous, and definitely not to be missed!

North Pole Express® – Ride the rails aboard Grapevine’s North Pole Express, presented by Great Wolf Lodge!

Kids can ride the festively decorated Grapevine Vintage Railroad coaches to the North Pole. The train ventures to Reindeer Ridge, where Ms. Claus boards the train and gives each child a “We Believe” silver Santa Bell. At the North Pole, guests can disembark and walk to Santa’s Workshop, where Santa serves a Frosty Chocolate Snow Milk. Finally, each family gets a voucher for a free family photo with Santa. This is such a special experience for kids, and definitely worth doing if you’ve got younger kids.
