Are you looking for hotels for your spring break vacation, or another family vacation? There are so many fantastic options, but we definitely have our favorites, based upon experience. You’ll notice that many of these are family beach resorts – that’s usually our preference for travel in the cold months.
The Best Family Resorts to Visit This Year
Bahia Resort Hotel (San Diego, CA)
We stayed at the Bahia Resort Hotel last February, and loved the perfect location on Mission Bay in San Diego. The highlight for my kids was the beautiful rescue seal who lives at the resort. There’s also a beach and pool on property.
Fairmont Scottsdale Princess (Scottsdale, AZ)
I’ve stayed at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess twice now, and yearn to return. The resort offers luxurious accommodations, fun activities, and delicious food.
Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak (Phoenix, AZ)
The Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak, which is located in Phoenix, offers a large waterpark area, complete with lazy river. My kids loved spending the days here, and also enjoyed their kids’ camp.
Westin Kierland Resort and Spa (Scottsdale, AZ)
The Westin Kierland Resort and Spa is located in Scottsdale, and offers such great kids’ programming, like cooking with the chef and visits from the Phoenix Zoo. Like other Westin resorts, you can enjoy the Heavenly Bed and the Heavenly Bath.
Atlantis Resort Paradise Island (Paradise Island, Bahamas)
Atlantis is such a wonderful place to travel with a family – especially with older kids. From the waterpark to the beach, there is so much to do and you’ll never want to leave the resort.
Disney’s Aulani (Oahu, Hawaii)
I haven’t yet been to Disney’s Aulani Resort (although I did attend a hard hat tour, back when it was being built), but it’s definitely on my list. I’ve heard so many great things about the resort, and know that there are many things, including a fabulous kids’ club, that will keep kids entertained.
I’ve been to all four Gaylord Hotels, and have enjoyed all of my stays. This past year, we went to the Gaylord National, and my kids really loved the aesthetics of the resort. If you haven’t been to one, definitely make plans to. My favorite is the largest – the Gaylord Opryland, which really feels like a small city.
The Great Wolf Lodge, which includes a huge indoor waterpark, is made with kids in mind. No list of best family resorts is complete without it! They all offer an indoor waterpark, a fun interactive game called MagiQuest, an arcade, and much more.
West Bay Club, Providenciales, Turks & Caicos
We visited the West Bay Club in Turks & Caicos last year, and I can’t wait to return. This luxury, boutique hotel offers gorgeous suites (great for families) along with a prime spot on Grace Bay Beach.
We love Grand Cayman, and the Westin is our choice for accommodations when we visit. It offers a large pool, delicious restaurants, and a great location on Seven Mile Beach.
Migis Lodge, Sebago Lake, Maine
Migis Lodge is a rustic, luxury resort that is open seasonally in Maine. This all-inclusive (except alcohol) resort feels like summer camp for the whole family, and is the perfect place for families to reconnect.
Ocean Edge Resort, Brewster, MA
Summer on Cape Cod is always magical, and the Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster is a great place to stay. The resort offers a variety of accommodation types, and has beach access as well as several pools. Kids’ activities are scheduled during vacation weeks.
Marco Beach Ocean Resort, Marco Island, Florida
Marco Island is the perfect vacation spot for those who want to relax on vacation. The Marco Beach Ocean Resort offers a great spot on the beach, and has fantastic service.
