Earlier this week, I traveled back up to Waterbury, Vermont for a LiveStream chat and tour of the Green Mountain Coffee Roasters plant. They wanted us to be close to the plant, so instead of staying in Stowe (where I usually stay), we spent the night at the Best Western Plus Waterbury/Stowe, located right off the highway. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel is!
Note that my stay was complimentary as part of the trip I was on.
Best Western Waterbury Review
Check-in was easy – but all our rooms were handled together, so it wasn’t exactly the same experience a standard guest would receive. All of our rooms were on the second floor, and there’s no elevator. There’s some construction going on at the hotel, so it’s possible the elevator was just not working. But, if walking up and down stairs is an issue, make sure you request a room on the first floor. The lobby, although small, is very warm and inviting – they even had a fire going while we were there.
The rooms at the Best Western Waterbury/Stowe are standard, but nice. My room was spotless and comfortable. I love the fact that the internet is free and easy to access. So many hotels make you go through hoops just to connect. I spent a few hours before dinner working, and also enjoyed snapping some photos at the beautiful scenery outside my window.
I wasn’t hungry in the morning, so I just brewed myself a cup of coffee in the in-room Keurig coffee maker. The hotel does offer a free continental breakfast in the Wandering Moose Cafe however. After my coffee, I took a walk around the property, and checked out the indoor pool, the jacuzzi, the fitness room, the game room, and the grounds. If I had more time, I definitely would have spent some time in the pool.
When I headed outdoors, I was completely amazed at how gorgeous the grounds really are. The hotel is perched on a hill, and the lines separating the parking spaces are drawn with little coffee beans – so cute! But, the best thing is this amazing covered bridge – I couldn’t believe it was sitting right there on the property.
I’d definitely recommend staying at the Best Western Waterbury/Stowe – it’s a nice, convenient hotel!
