You are getting ready to book a vacation. You know exactly when you want to go and where you want to stay. But, when you start doing research on flights, you aren’t sure if it’s a good time to buy. Maybe the prices are on the high side and you’d want to wait, if only you knew the prices would decline rather than increase. How do you know when to buy?
I like to use Bing.com/Travel, which offers a proprietary system to help you determine whether you should buy or wait. I tried it out with a trip to Orlando from Boston, and it recommended that I buy, since rates are expected to increase. There are times where you won’t get a good fare prediction, but if you are flying to and from popular locations, you’ll likely get one.
Keep in mind that it won’t include Southwest Airlines, so you’ll want to do a bit more research, but it’s still a great indicator of when to buy.
