My kids, especially my son, love playing computer and video games. My son will sit with his Leapster or iPad and quietly play for hours, which especially works well when we travel on family road trips. So, when I saw the original Sifteo Cubes last year, and the new updated Sifteo Cubes at BlogHer this year, I knew they’d be something that my kids would love. I just received a set for us to play with, and my son (and my daughter too!) just can’t get enough of them.
Sifteo Cubes Review
Sifteo cubes come in a set of three with the base, a USB cable (to connect to your computer), and all of the necessary batteries. The set retails for $129.95 and includes four pre-installed games along with a free download for a fifth game. You can also purchase additional cubes for your system – for up to 20 cubes.
The included games are Chroma Splash, Cube Buddies, Code Cracker, and Word Caravan. Chroma Splash, where you match up colored dots (shown on the box to the left) is my kids’ favorite Sifteo game. The others are probably a little above their ability level – but I have fun playing with them.
The cool thing about Sifteo Cubes is that they are so different from any other game out there. Each cube has a touch screen, and can be moved, shifted, and tilted for game play. This makes the game play even more fun, and makes the system so unique. It’s also great for travel – the kit even comes with a soft carrying case so you can keep everything together. The base integrates all of the cubes, and also serves as the speaker (which you can mute). You also use the base connected to your computer to download additional games. They are a great toy to play with on the road – on a plane, in a car, or in a hotel room.

Nice review. My kids have been talking about these a lot lately. It’s nice to finally understand what they are.
I can honestly say I’ve never heard of these, but my curiosity is peaked!!!
Those are incredibly cool. I’d love to try them out.
They look really cool. I will have to point them out to the kids and see what they think. Thanks for the tip
