• Relaxing at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman

    Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman
While we stayed at the Westin Casaurina Resort and Spa during my recent press trip to the Cayman Islands, we did get the chance to visit the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman.  We dined at the fabulous Periwinkle Restaurant, right on the waterfront, and then, while the kids got to participate in one of the Ambassadors of the Environment programs, I got to relax on their stretch of Seven Mile Beach.

Lunch at Periwinkle Restaurant was one of the culinary highlights of the trip.  I could have eaten an entire vat of the delicious truffle fries, but then I would have been too full to devour my mushroom pizza – which was just perfect.  After lunch, my daughter attended the Love a Bug program, while some of the older children went on a snorkeling adventure.  She really enjoyed the program, and didn’t want to leave when it was time for me to pick her up.  The Ritz-Carlton offers up to 25 of these Ambassadors of the Environment programs per week, and they are available to both guests and non-guests of the resort.  I heard fabulous feedback from the snorkeling program – it’s definitely something I would have my daughter do if we return to the Caymans.

Seven Mile Beach During the 2 1/2 hour program, I explored a bit of the hotel, then headed down to the beach.  Guests of the Ritz-Carlton are greeted by friendly staff members who help set you up with covered beach chairs and towels.  On calm days, there are also floating tables right in the water, with waiters who deliver food right to you.

The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman is definitely THE luxury hotel on the Caymans, and I’d definitely recommend staying there if you can afford it.
