Spring break is right around the corner, and if you haven’t planned your spring break family vacation yet, now is the time! Since many schools’ spring break vacations coincide with Easter this year, expect flights and hotels to be even more expensive than normal. Wondering where to go for spring break with children? Here are five great family spring break ideas for 2014!
Fly into Fort Myers and then drive down to this beautiful island. We visited Marco Island last spring break and loved every second of it. Plan to spend most of the time on the beach, where you can swim, play water sports, and pick shells. I’d also highly recommend the Dolphin Explorer, which is both fun and educational.
Depending on when your spring break falls, you can actually catch a baseball spring training game in Phoenix during your spring break. But even if you miss spring training, there are still so many things to do in the Greater Phoenix area. Tip: stay at a resort with a fabulous pool and a fun kids’ club and you won’t want to leave.
There are still some very limited spots on the Disney Cruise Line for spring break. I’d recommend at least a four day cruise, because you’ll want to spend at least one day at sea. There’s so much to do on board, and you can’t experience it all unless you spend at least a day or two only on the ship.
Once again, we’ve got San Diego on our list as a top family vacation destination for spring break. It’s a great place for families looking to combine a beach vacation with family attractions like the San Diego Zoo, Disneyland, and Legoland – all just a short drive away.
For a more unique family vacation, consider visiting one of the 100 dude ranches associated with the Dude Ranchers’ Association. Hiking, horseback riding, and snowshoeing are among the activities you can enjoy this spring.
