The 2012 Virginia Arts Festival, featuring music, dance, theater, and more has already started. The festival will run through June, when Al Pacino makes his appearance at the Chrysler Hall in Norfolk. Other features include an evening with Jane Krakowski (on May 27th), the Harlem Renaissance Orchestra (on May 25th), and Gallim Dance (on May 11th).
In addition, this weekend (April 27-29, 2012) is the Virginia International Tattoo, a festival of music and culture from around the world. It’s something that has to be seen to really be understood. I got a small sneak peak this past week at the Virginia Beach Front Family Fun and Food Media Tour, and it was really amazing. I wish I were there this week to see it. Tickets are still available – if you are in the area it’s definitely worth checking out.
