As I mentioned last week, we headed to Nantucket this past weekend for the annual Christmas Stroll. While I’ll have a full review of the stroll and our accommodations later, today, I just wanted to write about what it was like to spend some quality time together on the island.
We arrived at our amazing vacation home in Nantucket at Harborview Place on Friday evening, and I took some amazing photos of the beautiful pink sky over the ocean. It was truly magnificent. We learned that evening that the cable television was out on much of the island, so it would be even more of an unplugged family vacation than we expected.
We went to dinner together. We stopped at every single one of the trees decorated on Main Street – evaluating each one. My kids chose their favorites, and posed in front of them. It was such old-fashioned fun.
Without cable, there was no Nickelodeon, no Disney Channel to fall back on. The kids played games inside and outside. We visited a museum. We walked around. It was wonderful.
